Terms of service
Version 2026-09-21 · in force from 21 September 2026 · Anvesan, India
1.Parties and definitions
1.1
These terms govern the supply of Atlas Pro and Sherpa Intelligence by Anvesan, a research company registered in India (Anvesan, we, us), to the customer (you). They constitute a contract within the meaning of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, formed on payment under clause 4.
1.2
In these terms: Atlas Pro and Sherpa Intelligence mean the services described at clause 2, and a service means either of them; the Atlas means the public dataset published at anvesan.org/atlas; a term means a period of access purchased under clause 4 or renewed under clause 5; a subscription means a succession of terms of one service; a seat means the right of one named individual to access Atlas Pro; a seat holder means the individual to whom a seat is assigned; the records means the data and the requirement texts made available through a service and the Atlas; and a reference to a clause is a reference to a clause of these terms.
1.3
A person who accepts these terms on behalf of an organisation warrants that they are authorised to bind it. The organisation is then the customer.
2.The services
2.1
Atlas Pro is access, through seats, to Anvesan's licensing tracker at dashboard.anvesan.org, comprising company profiles, regime and licence records, the provenance recorded for each record, a feed of changes, exports, and the weekly briefs.
2.2
Sherpa Intelligence is the subscription service of Anvesan Sherpa described at anvesan.org/sherpa, comprising the features listed there as included in it. Some of those features are stated there to be in early access or in development.
2.3
The records are revised as the dataset is maintained. A record may be updated, re-dated or withdrawn during a term. Such revision forms part of the service and is not a reduction of it.
2.4
Clauses 7 and 8 apply also to use of the Atlas, and of the free pages of Anvesan Sherpa, without a subscription.
3.Accounts and seats
3.1
A seat is assigned to one named individual, who accesses Atlas Pro through an account in their own work email address. Use of one account by more than one individual, and the forwarding of a sign-in link, are each a breach of these terms.
3.2
A seat may be reassigned to another named individual at no charge, on written request under clause 15 stating the name and email address of the new seat holder.
3.3
A seat may be added during a term. The added seat is charged for the remainder of the term, pro rata to the rate per seat and per month of the term in force, and expires with the term.
3.4
A seat is removed with effect from the next renewal, on written request under clause 15 received before that renewal. Removal of a seat before the expiry of a term does not reduce the sum paid for that term (clause 3 of the refund policy at /refunds).
4.Terms, prices and payment
4.1
Prices are stated in United States dollars, exclusive of taxes. The terms available for Atlas Pro, priced per seat, are set out below.
| Term | Length | Price per seat |
|---|---|---|
| Trial | One month | $1,000 |
| Quarterly | Three months | $3,000 |
| Half-yearly | Six months | $5,400 |
| Yearly | Twelve months | $9,600 |
4.2
The trial is a term of one month at USD 1,000 per seat. It is charged once, does not renew, is not credited against a subsequent term, and is available once per account.
4.3
Sherpa Intelligence is priced at USD 200 per month and is supplied in the terms set out below. The term is chosen at checkout and is paid for in full when it commences.
| Term | Price |
|---|---|
| One month | $200 |
| Three months | $600 |
| Six months | $1,200 |
| Twelve months | $2,400 |
4.4
Payment for Atlas Pro may be made by card through Razorpay, by bank transfer, or against an invoice or purchase order issued on request under clause 15. Card payment through the account page is limited to ten seats and to the single-payment ceiling displayed there. An order exceeding either limit is invoiced.
4.5
Payment for Sherpa Intelligence is made by card through Razorpay, under a recurring mandate given at checkout.
4.6
A term commences on the day on which payment is received and access is opened. Access is opened on receipt of a card payment, and, in the case of a bank transfer, on the day on which the funds are credited to Anvesan.
5.Automatic renewal
5.1
A subscription renews automatically. On the expiry of each term it continues for a further term of the same length, at the price in force for that term on the day of renewal, until it is cancelled under the refund and cancellation policy at /refunds.
5.2
Where a recurring mandate was given at checkout, the charge for each renewal term is taken automatically, on the first day of the term, from the card on which the mandate was given.
5.3
Where a term was paid for by a single card payment, by bank transfer or against an invoice, Anvesan issues a payment request or an invoice for the renewal term before the current term expires. A term paid for before the expiry of the current term commences on that expiry.
5.4
Where the sum due for a renewal term is not received, access ends on the expiry of the paid term. The expiry date of an Atlas Pro term is displayed on the account page.
5.5
The trial does not renew (clause 4.2).
5.6
Sums paid for a term are not refunded on cancellation, save as provided in the refund and cancellation policy.
6.Taxes
6.1
Prices exclude value added tax, goods and services tax, sales tax and any similar tax. Where such a tax is chargeable on a supply, it is added to the invoice.
6.2
A business established in the European Union or the United Kingdom that provides a valid VAT registration number is invoiced without VAT under the reverse charge mechanism and accounts for the VAT itself. The number is to be entered in the tax identifier field at checkout or stated in the request for an invoice.
6.3
Any other tax, duty or withholding imposed on a payment is borne by you. Where a withholding is applied, the sum paid is increased so that the amount received by Anvesan equals the price stated.
7.Licence and permitted use
7.1
For the duration of a paid term, Anvesan grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the service subscribed to, and in the case of Atlas Pro through the seats paid for, for your internal business purposes.
7.2
You shall not, and shall not permit any person to:
- resell, republish, sublicense or redistribute the records, in whole or in part;
- extract the records in bulk, scrape them, or copy them systematically;
- use the records to create a dataset or a product that competes with a service or with the Atlas;
- use the records to train a machine learning model.
7.3
Short extracts from the records may be reproduced in your internal reports and correspondence, with attribution to Anvesan.
7.4
Access to Atlas Pro is metered and logged for the enforcement of clause 7.2. The personal data so processed is described in the privacy notice at /privacy.
8.Records and exclusion of advice
8.1
The records are compiled from public sources, including legislation, regulators' registers and rulebooks, official notices, company filings and company announcements. Each record states its source.
8.2
A record states the position as at the date on which it was last checked. Regulatory status is subject to change, and a public register may lag the event it records.
8.3
Nothing in a service or in the Atlas constitutes legal, regulatory, investment or other professional advice. Anvesan is not a law firm. No record is a representation that a company may lawfully provide any service in any jurisdiction.
8.4
Anvesan does not warrant that any record is complete, current or free of error. Notice of an error may be given under clause 15.
9.Availability
9.1
Anvesan uses reasonable endeavours to make each service available. Planned maintenance is notified by email in advance where practicable.
9.2
Anvesan does not warrant uninterrupted availability. Unavailability exceeding fourteen consecutive days for a cause within Anvesan's control is governed by clause 6 of the refund policy.
10.Liability
10.1
To the extent permitted by law, the aggregate liability of Anvesan under or in connection with these terms, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, is limited to the sums paid by you, for the service to which the claim relates, in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10.2
Anvesan is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss arising from reliance on a record.
10.3
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for fraud.
11.Suspension and termination
11.1
Anvesan may suspend a seat or an account for non-payment of an invoice, for a breach of clause 3.1, or for a breach of clause 7. Where practicable, notice of the breach is given by email before suspension.
11.2
Where access is suspended for breach, no sum paid for the term is refunded.
11.3
Clause 7.2 continues to apply after the expiry or termination of a term to records obtained during it.
12.Privacy and payment processing
12.1
The processing of personal data relating to the customer and to seat holders is governed by the privacy notice at /privacy.
12.2
Card payments are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited on pages served by it. A recurring mandate is given to, and held by, Razorpay. Anvesan does not receive or store card numbers.
13.Amendment
13.1
Anvesan may amend these terms. An amendment affecting a term in progress is notified by email to the account email address not less than thirty days before it takes effect.
13.2
Continued use of a service after the effective date of an amendment constitutes acceptance of it.
13.3
These terms are version 2026-09-21, in force from 21 September 2026, and apply to every payment made on or after that date. A term paid for before that date is governed until its expiry by the version in force when it was paid for.
14.Governing law and jurisdiction
14.1
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
14.2
The courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising under or in connection with these terms.
15.Notices
15.1
A notice or request under these terms is given by email: by you to research@anvesan.org, stating the account email address; by Anvesan to the account email address.
15.2
A notice is deemed received on the business day following the day on which it is sent.
